Workshops with Arina

Restore your resourcefulness, gain new skills - join Arina for practical hands-on workshops to  polish off your understanding of gardening, food fermentation, sewing, needle felting, making clothing, knitting, canning, and many other skills. Current schedule below.

October 13
Tomato Tasting, Seed Saving and Exchange 9am - noon
Come for a delectable walk in the fall garden, discussion of seasonal permaculture gardening practices and for harvesting of heirloom tomatoes of over 12 varieties to taste and to save seed from. Plants are organically grown and seed is open-pollinated, which means you can take home a variety of seeds that are full of life and grown locally. Choose varieties that taste the best to grow next year. Feel free to bring tomatoes from your garden to share. $15 ($20 at the door)

October 27
Bees' Wax Candle Dipping 10am - noon (limited to 6 people)
Enter the darkness of the season with your own supply of bees' wax candles to burn at both ends of the day, at dinner time or even while reading before bed. Fragrant with smell of honey and summer blossom, these candles are like no others. Each participant will take home a dozen of sweet, warm hand-dipped candles. $35 ($40 at the door)


November 17
Needle Felting Basics - Wee Folk 9am - noon (class one of three)
Gnomes and fairies, princesses and wizards come out to tell their sweet stories for children and adults alike - once you learn the basics of this simple craft. We will focus on learning basics as well as embellishments such as hats, beards, hair and more. $45 ($35 if bringing your own supplies). Add $5 to the fee for at the door registration.




December 1
Needle Felting - Animal Kingdom 9am - noon (class two of three)
We will apply our skills to learning to create animals, birds and their babies - creatures that can visit your story time or help celebrating the season on the nature table or fir tree. $45 ($35 if bringing your own supplies). Add $5 to the fee for at the door registration.
